Day 1 Arrive Nairobi, Kenya
Jambo na Karibu! Welcome to Nairobi, or the “place of cool waters” in the Maasai language. After a warm welcome, you’ll be driven to your ideally located hotel. (D)
Day 2 Nairobi / Loisaba Conservancy
Your safari takes off with a flight to Loisaba Conservancy in Northern Laikipia. Meet your expert ranger for a game drive and start exploring the conservancy’s diverse ecosystems. You’ll be delighted by the varied wildlife that can be spotted here. Be sure to watch for the endangered Grevy’s zebra and reticulated giraffe. (BLD)
Day 3 Loisaba Conservancy
Loisaba is made for adventure. Explore the open plains on early morning or late afternoon game drives. Trek through the bush with camels, mountain bike down the escarpment, or go horseback riding. Tonight, sleep under the stars, with the night sky as your ceiling and the hills in the distance, your walls. (BLD)
Day 4 Loisaba Conservancy
Immerse yourself in the wilderness and observe the wealth of wildlife at a leisurely pace. A guided walk with your traditional Samburu guide is a wonderful way to learn about the flora, fauna, culture and history of the area. Spend an afternoon at a traditional Samburu village. For a different perspective, join Loisaba's anti-poaching team and learn about their day-to-day training and activities. (BLD)
Day 5 Loisaba Conservancy / Maasai Mara - Mara North Conservancy
Set off for the magical Maasai Mara, flying past Mt. Kenya, the Laikipia Escarpment, and the Great Rift Valley. After a warm welcome at your tented camp, embark on a game drive in your exclusive use safari vehicle with your dedicated guide and spotter. With the greatest and most diverse concentration of wildlife remaining in Africa today, the Mara is the ancestral home to the Maasai people. Gather for a communal dinner with your fellow adventurers and share your day’s adventures. (BLD)
Day 6 Mara North Conservancy
The Mara North Conservancy offers the added bonus of off road driving, night game drives, and incredible walking safaris – as well as the exclusivity and privacy of limited access. Disconnect from the hustle and bustle and fall under the spell of this enchanting landscape. (BLD)
Day 7 Mara North Conservancy
Observe Mara’s cycle of life slowly unfold. Perhaps spend the morning tracking rhino on foot, or sit quietly for hours observing a day in the life of a pride of Mara lions. There is no better way to fall asleep than being serenaded by the sounds of nature while you gaze up at the starry skies of Africa. Whether it is adventure or romance you are after, The Nest treehouse offers a remote wilderness experience. (BLD)
Day 8 Mara North Conservancy / Depart
Soak up your last morning on safari, before returning to Nairobi. This afternoon, visit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and its pioneering Orphan's Project for a visit with your foster elephant. Overseen by Dame Daphne Sheldrick, the organization works in partnership with the Kenya Wildlife Service and offers hope for any orphaned elephant fortunate enough to be found alive. Transfer to the airport for your onward arrangements. (BL)
